Wesley J. Colford
Wesley J. Colford is an emerging actor/playwright from Sydney, Nova Scotia and recent “artist to watch” in NOW Magazine. He is currently based in Toronto having completed studies at Sheridan College and George Brown Theatre School. In the past four years, Wesley has written five full-length plays (including two musicals), nine one-acts, eight short plays for children, and has been produced in three provinces. His most recent success includes the hit Toronto Fringe Vaudeville Musical, The Wakowski Bros., which was honored with rave reviews, a sold out run, and inclusion in the 2012 Best of Fringe. It will receive its professional premiere at Talk is Free Theatre in Barrie, ON in 2014.
Other plays include: Excuse Me, Would You Like to Buy a Bar? (Toronto Fringe Festival 2011, winner of Tarragon Theatre’s “Under 20 by Under 20’s Playwriting Competition”), Mature Young Adults, (published in the anthology: Out on a Limb: Short Plays by New Playwrights, edited by Kit Brennan, Signature Editions, 2011), and My Friend’s Best Friend’s Boyfriend (New Ideas Festival 2013).
Wesley is an alumni of the Summerworks Leadership Intensive Program and is a proud member of the Playwright’s Atlantic Resource Centre (PARC).
He is represented by Pam Winter at the Gary Goddard Agency in Toronto.
