About Mark Brownell

Mark Brownell is a Toronto-based playwright and co-artistic director of the Pea Green Theatre Group with his wife and partner Sue Miner.

Awards: Nominated for a Governor General's Literary Award for his play, Monsieur d'Eon. He also received a Dora Mavor Moore Award for his libretto Iron Road and a Dora Mavor Moore Award Nomination for Medici Slot Machine. In 2010 he was also the recipient of the infamous Harold Indie Theatre Award.

Other award-winning work includes The Barbeque KingThe Martha Stewart ProjectsPlayballsHigh Sticking-Three Period Plays, The Chevalier St. George, The Storyteller’s Bag and The Weaving Maiden.

 

About Tom McGee

Tom is a dramaturge, playwright, producer, puppeteer, and performer based in Toronto, Ontario.  The co-founder and associate artistic director of Theatre Brouhaha, Tom has been instrumental in developing the company's mandate and capturing Generation Y as an audience.  He has dramaturged and produced all of Theatre Brouhaha's scripts working closely with his writing partner prolific Toronto playwright Kat Sandler.  The award winning Theatre Brouhaha has played to sold out houses and has toured to Montreal, Ottawa, and Kitchener-Waterloo.  He has been involved in over one hundred productions on all levels from producing to directing to marketing. A self-taught puppeteer and puppet builder, in 2011 Tom founded Shakey-Shake and Friends Puppet Theatre company with the goal of presenting accessible, fun, and engaging adaptations of classic shows for young audiences.  Playing to sold out audiences and critical acclaim, Shakey-Shake and Friends has quickly become a much-beloved fixture of the Fringe Festival with their shows Romeo and Juliet... A Puppet Epic!, The Tempest...A Puppet Epic!, and A Midsummer Night's Dream...A Puppet Epic!. This year, he will be premiering Hamlet...A Puppet Epic in the Toronto a Fringe and As You Like It...A Puppet Epic in Barrie's Theatre By The Bay.  With McGee+Associates, Tom works in media training, crisis consulting, and presentation training.   

 

About Kat Sandler

Kat Sandler is a writer/actor/director working in Toronto. She is the Artistic Director of Theatre Brouhaha, and has staged six or her original plays; LOVESEXMONEY (Next Stage Festival), Help Yourself (Best of Fringe, winner of the Fringe New Play Contest), Delicacy (Summerworks), Rock (Storefront Theatre), We Are the Bomb (Toronto Fringe, Sucker (Storefront Theatre) and directed Twenty-Seven Wagons Full of Cotton, and The Unseen Hand (Playwrights Project). As an actor she has appeared onstage with Theatre Gargantua in the world premieres of FiBBer and Imprints. She is a graduate of Queen’s University. Kat will be writing Retreat while in Tarragon’s Playwrights Unit.
