Paul Van Dyck

Paul Van Dyck is a Montreal based actor, director, producer, and playwright. As Artistic Director of Rabbit in a Hat Productions, Paul created the acclaimed plays The Cyclops, Sahara Crossing, Haunted, Paradise Lost (winner: Best Production, New York Frigid Festival and Atlantic Fringe Festival), The Harvester (winner: Best Drama, Atlantic Fringe Festival), and co-created Miss Sugarpuss Must Die! (winner: Best Production, Montreal Fringe Festival). His piece, A Christmas Song, was presented as part of Centaur Theatre’s 2012 Urban Tales while The Montreal Arts Interculturels presented his adaptation of Aphra Behn’s 17th century novel, Oroonoko (winner: Outstanding Direction, Montreal English Theatre Awards). Recently, Paul was one of two Canadian directors selected for the 2013 Neil Munro Intern Directors Project at The Shaw Festival. Based on his commitment to excellence in theatre, The Montreal English Critics Circle presented Paul with the prestigious Revelation of the Year Award, while Nightlife Magazine named him one of Montreal’s top emerging artists.
