Nicolle Trixie Nattrass

Nicolle Nattrass is an actor (CAEA/ACTRA) & playwright. She has served as Deputy Chair to the Women's Caucus at PGC since 2008- June 2012. She lives in a village by the sea, Lantzville on Vancouver Island and is currently serving as National Forum Rep (Vancouver Island & Gulf Islands)

She started writing monologues and numerous sketch comedy shows in between performing in regional theatres across Canada.

Many, many monologues turned into a one woman play which she performed called, Brownie Points, Boldly Going Where No Brownie Has Gone Before. Brownie Points received nominations for Outstanding Original Play & Outstanding Performance at the 1998 Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards.

Brownie Points received its American premiere , was adapted into a CBC radio pilot, based on the same character and became a short film which won Best Short Comedy at the 2003 Magnolia Independent Film Festival in Mississippi, USA. 

Other plays include: Good House- keeping (prof.development workshop with Presentation House Theatre, director Nicola Cavendish) From 2010-2011 she was commissioned to write Wilde Holiday Shorts (an adaptation of Oscar Wilde short stories, director David Nykl) and Countryside Christmas (co-written with Mark DuMez, director Julie McIsaac) which both received professional productions at the Chemainus Theatre Festival. One act plays include: The Drama Queens, The Kindness of Kevin Barteski and Dot in the city.

She created a comedy duo, The Drama Queens which was featured on a new television show called, She Kills Me on APTN-TV- 2014. To view the full episode, Episode 7/ Season 1. kills me

Her new solo show,  Mamahood: Bursting into Light received a premiere production at TheatreOne as part of their Mainstage series in March 2015 directed by David Mann. It also received a second production in 2016 at the Firehall Arts Centre in Vancouver directed by TJ Dawe.

Mamahood: turn and face the strange (original title)  was written in 2013 and has been part of two Canada Council for the Arts Playwright Readings program and originally developed as part of  THE YOU SHOW produced by Intrepid Theatre in Victoria BC. Next up: Nicolle is currently co-writing with Mark DuMez the sequel to Countryside Christmas, Cornwalls' All Inclusive Cancun Christmas scheduled for production at the Chemainus Theatre Festival, Christmas 2018.

Mamahood: Bursting into Light directed by TJ Dawe is currently touring at various festivals & theatre in Canada. Sept 2017- Sunset Theatre, Wells BC and Toronto date soon to be announced.
