Lucas Foss

Lucas is a playwright, poet and performer. Unitl recently Lucas balanced his time between his "day job" at Capilano University (retired Aug/2013), his private counselling therapy practice (Sannyas Counselling) and his acting and writing. Lucas wrote his first play Little Voices in 1999 and won the Special Merit Award for Theatre BC's Canadian National Playwriting Competition. In 2000 he expanded Little Voices and continues to perform it to the consistent pleasure of audiences and critics alike. Lucas was selected as one of the five finalists for his second play The Wall in the 2003 Theatre BC's Canadian National Playwriting Competition. The Wall is the second in a trilogy, after Little Voices. In 2012 he completed a one year Paid Educational Leave from Capilano University to write a Disability Awareness Play for Post Secondary Institutions. The play is entitled 'Re-calculating' and has had 10 very well received productions. In January 2014 RealWheels, a Vancouver based theatre company finaned further development of Re-calculating for a more general audience. Lucas and co-writer Liesl Flattery have completed their work and the show debuts on January 20th 2015 at the CBC Studio in Vancouver under the direction of Jeffrey Renn. First time actor Dave Symington continues in the role of Jonathan in this intriguing and intimate one person show.
