Lezlie Faith Wade

Lezlie Wade is a director, writer, lyricist and actor. Most recently she directed H.M.S. Pinafore at the Stratford Festival and The Twelve Pound Look at Shaw Festival, and Obeah Opera for Panamania. She was the assistant director on Fuente Ovejuna,As You Like It and A Word or Two at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival as well as Jesus Christ Superstar at the Lajolla Playhouse and on Broadway. She was associate director on Henry Vand an inaugural member of the Michael Langham Classical Theatre Workshop where she worked exclusively with Des McAnuff.

Other recent directing credits include: The Enlightenment of Percival Von Schmootz, Theatre Sheridan,  Queen Milli of Galt, Theatre Aquarius, RENT, Theatre Sheridan & Panasonic Theatre, Resident Director/ Choreographer, The Toxic Avenger, Dancap Productions, Dog Sees God: Confessions of A Teenage Blockhead, Rubinoff Productions, ElegiesandA Man of No Importance, Acting Up Stage Co., The Yalta Game, Shaw Festival and Book of Days, Theatre Emanation.

As a writer she has written a musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol presented at Theatre Orangeville, The Globe Theatre and Carousel Theatre and Queen of the Mist with collaborator, Wayne Gwillim. Other plays include: Poor Lydia is Lost, and The Squid’s Embrace, which was workshopped at Road Less Traveled Productions in Buffalo, NY and Theatre Aquarius. 

She is a member of the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab and was accepted as a lyricist in the BMI workshop in New York where she met her collaborator, Daniel Green. The Remarkable Journey of Prince Jen was workshopped at the Finger Lakes Music Theatre Festival and presented in concert for Summerworks. It was also one of two musicals workshopped for ASCAP DreamWorks workshop for Stephen Schwartz, Stephen Flaherty and Dick Scanlan. It was one of four musicals presented as part of the Kauffman Center's, Bound For Broadway series. It was short-listed for the O'Neill, and NAMT and one of three plays short-listed for the Tom Hendry Award.
