Leonard Linklater

Leonard Linklater is a founding Co-Artistic Director of Gwaandak Theatre, as well as a playwright and CBC journalist. He was born and raised in Inuvik, N.W.T. and is a member of the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation. His first play Sixty Below received seven Dora nominations for its 1997 Toronto production with Native Earth Performing Arts, including for best script.

Since 2000, Leonard has co-produced various Gwaandak productions. He is a member of Playwrights Guild of Canada. Leonard workshopped Justice at the 2010 Native Earth Weesageechak New Play Festival; the play premiered in fall 2012 in the Yukon. Justice was featured in Ottawa as part of the National Arts Centre’s Northern Scene, fittingly, in an old court house.
