Kevin Longfield

Kevin Longfield has been active on the Winnipeg theatre scene since he returned there from Ottawa in 1980. Besides writing plays, he has served on several local arts boards, helped Primus in the development of The Night Room, and produced and directed independent theatre projects. He wrote From Fire to Flood: A History of Theatre in Manitoba, in 2001. From 1990 to 1995 he was Winnipeg correspondent for Theatrum magazine. His one-act play Going Down the River has drawn critical acclaim from Liam Lacey and Kenneth Dyba, and a lengthy citation in a scholarly journal praising the value of Canadian drama as a teaching tool. He is most proud, however, of the work his three children have done in theatre: writing, directing, performing, producing and volunteering.
