Kevin Kerr

Kevin Kerr is a founding member and Artistic Associate of Vancouver's Electric Company Theatre with whom he's co-written numerous plays including Brilliant! The Blinding Enlightenment of Nikola Tesla (1998, 2003), The Wake (1999), The Score (2000), Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands (2001), Flop (2002), The Fall (2003), Tear the Curtain! (2010), and You Are Very Star (2013). His play Studies in Motion was premiered by Electric Company in 2006 before touring to Whitehorse, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal and Toronto. The play was adpated into the award-winning feature film Eadweard produced by Motion 58.
Other works include Spine (University of Alberta/Realwheels 2010) and Skydive (Realwheels, 2007), Secret World of Og (Carousel Theatre, 2009), The Remittance Man (Sunshine Theatre, 2005), and Unity (1918) (Touchstone Theatre, 2001). His most recent work was 2015's The Night's Mare, commissioned and produced by The Caravan Farm Theatre. He is the recipient of four Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards for Outstanding New Play, and the 2002 Governor Generals Literary Award for Drama.

From 2007 - 2010 Kevin was the Lee Playwright in Residence at the University of Alberta. In 2012 he joined the faculty at the University of Victoria's department of Writing where he currently teaches playwriting and screenwriting.
