Jim Betts

Jim Betts has been writing plays and musicals for over 40 years. A Dora and Chalmers Award winner, his shows have been produced across Canada and the US. He has worked in virtually every aspect of the theatre, including as a producer, a director, and recently as the publisher of Field Of Stars, the first ever sheet music collection of Canadian Musical Theatre songs. He was the Founding Artistic Director of Theatre Orangeville, and is currently the Artistic Director of Smile Theatre - the best job he has ever had. Jim has an MA from Victoria College at UofT, and nows lives, teaches and writes in Toronto.
