Deborah Porter Taylor

Deborah is a writer, director and teacher residing in Mexico and the Sunshine Coast, BC. Her plays include Flowers (Canadian Stage, 1993) and No More Medea (Particle Zoo, 1990) both of which have been produced around the world, and The Coming (DuMaurier World Stage 1992). She presented findings from her graduate work in adaptation theory at the Stratford 50th Anniversary colloquium in 2003. In Baja California Sur, she translated and produced Rom y Juli  a la Cabeña (2003) with local students. Esto es para ti, Ana (her translation of This is for you, Anna), toured the lower part of Baja California Sur and won awards for innovation in the state theatre competition in 2012. Deborah has also acted (Crimes of the Heart -2005, Ana 2010-2012). She is currently working on creating a writer's refuge/retreat on an island in Howe Sound, BC.
