PGC at Toronto Fringe's Tent Talks

PGC will be well represented at Toronto Fringe's Tent Talk series, with both Sky Gilbert and Executive Director Robin Sokoloski participating. The event, with 'industry types' arguing “Theatre is dead…Long Live Theatre!” while you sit in the middle with an iced drink in your hand, is certainly a must see for anyone fascinated with what goes on behind the scenes in the theatre world.

Theatre is Dead (Thursday, July 5th, 5:00-6:00pm)

Panel: Sky Gilbert (playwright/director/actor), Shannon Litzenberger (dancer/arts policy advocate), Daniel Brooks (Necessary Angel)
Host = Matt Baram (National Theatre of the World)

Theatre is Dead. Prove us wrong. A panel of cultural programmers and industry VIP “pessimists” dissect exactly what's broken in the theatre community.

A Smorgasbord of People You Should Know (Friday July 13th: 5:00-6:00pm)

Panel: Natasha Mytnowych (Canadian Stage), Robin Sokoloski (Playwrights Guild), Noa Bronstein (Gladstone), Derrick Chua (entertainment lawyer/independent producer), Juilan Sleath (Nuit Blanche), Lynda Hill (Theatre Direct), Lucy Eveleigh (SummerWorks), Stephen Colella (Young People’sTheatre), Laura Nanni (Rhubarb Festival), Christine Gresham (Theatre Isn’t Dead), Kendra Fry (Theatre Passe Muraille), Margaret Evans (HATCH/Harbourfront), additional panelists TBD.

Artistic Directors. Cultural programmers. Theatre reviewers. We introduce you to the people you need to know to succeed in this industry. Followed by an informal mix and mingle from 6:00-8:00pm. All are welcome!
