LINDA GRIFFITHS AND IRIS TURCOTT TO BE HONOURED AT PGC’S 2013 TOM HENDRY AWARDS

Playwrights Guild of Canada is proud to announce that Linda Griffiths will be awarded PGC’s Lifetime Award, and Iris Turcott will be this year’s recipient of PGC’s Honorary Award.

Linda Griffiths
was selected as PGC’s Lifetime Award recipient for her outstanding body of work as a Canadian playwright. She has an expansive and truly unique repertoire.  As an artist she is an original pioneer, and her plays are not easily categorized. Her creativity and uncompromising vision is greatly admired by her fellow playwrights.

Iris Turcott was selected as PGC’s Honorary Award recipient for her devotion to Canadian theatre; most specifically, for her work with countless numbers of Canadian playwrights, whose artistic pursuits she has greatly inspired. Iris is a fierce champion of Canadian playwrights. As Colleen Murphy has stated, “I've seen her fight for a Canadian play and she's like a lion with her cub”.

To help celebrate these two great women of the theatre across the country, take part in PGC’s surprise for them, which will end up being featured at this year’s Tom Hendry Awards. To participate, go here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/awardsurprise.
